Dear Trinity Friends:

The 2019 Gala is less than three months away! This year’s Gala theme is Treasures of Trinity and will highlight the “jewels” of our congregation. The Gala, held at the Exmoor Country Club in Highland Park on Friday, November 1st, begins at 6:00 PM and is sure to be an evening of fun and fellowship!

This year’s Gala will feature live and silent auctions, wine-roulette, raffles (a church raffle before the Gala and a raffle during the Gala), dinner and dancing, and the return of the gaming tables. There are a few new activities planned, and the committee hopes you will be as excited as we are. We will again feature a Christmas tree with $10 ornaments available for purchase. The proceeds from the ornament sale will go to fund the purchase of the Tri-Con Angel Tree gift cards which each Tri-Con Family receives at the time of the gift distribution. Last year, we were able to purchase a $50 gift card for each Tri-Con family!

A critical factor in ensuring that this year’s Gala is successful is ATTENDANCE. Tickets for the event will be $80 and we will again offer the option of purchasing tickets for a table of 10 with a $50 discount. Also, you will be able to buy drink and raffle tickets in advance and at the venue itself. So please invite your friends, family, neighbors, business associates, and co-workers. The more, the merrier!

Another key to a successful Gala is the quality and quantity of auction items. We need your help in soliciting and donating items (letters and donation forms are available in the choir forming room). The sign-up for restaurant gift certificates is available in the choir forming room, and the sign-up for bottles of wine and baskets will be available after the Rummage Sale. A donation form must accompany your item(s). These forms are used to track donations and to send out tax letters to contributors at the end of the year or to update your Trinity contribution statement.

If you are unsure of what to donate or don’t have the time to solicit items, you can contribute financially. You may also consider donating gift cards that have been collecting dust. Or you can give a service (music lessons, flower arrangement design, babysitting, etc.), a place for a vacation/weekend get-away or tickets to a Broadway performance or sports event (Bears tickets, Blackhawk tickets, etc.). Don't be afraid to think outside of the box! Be bold and creative!

A big shout-out to those who have volunteered to help with the Gala. We will need more assistance with set-up, check-in, check-out, assisting with raffle sales, selling drink tickets, and take-down. Please let any Gala Committee member know if you are willing to help. Or if you would like to be a part of the planning, all are welcome to join.

If you have any questions, please contact Cynthia Wolpert, Gala Chair, at or cell phone 847-527-7433

Thanks in advance for your support. We look forward to seeing you in November!
