Are we faithful stewards of all that God provides? Consider the following commentary taken from the Episcopal Church Office of Stewardship:
"Stewardship is about being grateful, responsible stewards of the gifts we receive from God. The tradition of giving back to God and to the church comes from the Biblical practice of “tithing,” which means to give back a tenth of our earnings to God (Numbers 18:26).
The Episcopal Church sees stewardship as more than simply contributing money to the church; it’s also about contributing time and talents, and volunteering for ministry and mission. It’s about reaching out to build relationships from a perspective of abundance instead of scarcity."
Stewardship at Trinity is the result of parishioners contributing their time, talent and treasure. Members contribute through the commitment they make to Trinity (time), the different gifts and skills we bring and share (talent), and financial contributions to support the church's ministry (treasure).
Trinity also seeks gifts from members of the community
to help sustain Trinity's campus for community use.
2026 Giving Campaign
Dear fellow travelers at Trinity,
“Tell out, my soul, the greatness of the Lord!”
These words from the beloved hymn “Tell Out My Soul” remind us of Mary’s song of praise, her response to God’s presence and faithfulness in her life. That same spirit of gratitude and proclamation inspires our mission here at Trinity. This year, as we begin our annual giving campaign, let us celebrate the ways God is at work in and through Trinity, and in making this sacred space a spiritual home for all.
Over the past four years, we at Trinity have sought to renew our church as a place where all are welcome to come as they are—to pray together, to ask questions, and to find connection. Whether someone steps through our doors for the first time or the thousandth, they are greeted with warmth and hospitality. Trinity is not just a church for those who gather here regularly; we hope to make it a welcoming place for the whole community.
We have pursued our ministry over the past year in many ways
In the beauty of liturgy and music, which creates a space of stillness and joy for all who enter.
In outreach and service, especially with our neighbors at Tri-Con through Food for Thought and the Giving Tree.
In hospitality to community groups, AA and Al-Anon, Artemis Chamber Orchestra, other arts organizations, and an advocacy fair.
In social events that make new connections and nourish friendships.
This is the story of Trinity—a story of God’s love made tangible, a story we tell not just with words, but with open doors, open hearts, and hands ready to serve.
Why Our Gift Matters
Mary’s song of praise proclaims God’s generosity and faithfulness. Our annual giving campaign is an invitation to join in that proclamation. When you make a pledge to Trinity, you are helping ensure that this church remains a vital resource for all who seek God’s presence—whether in worship, service, conversation, or quiet reflection.
Your generosity makes it possible to:
Maintain and enhance our beautiful historic building as a house of prayer for all people
Offer transformative worship that inspires us to live out our faith in the world.
Support ministries of outreach and justice that reflect God’s compassion for every person.
Open more widely to community groups, neighbors, and all who seek a space of welcome.
Every pledge, no matter the size, is a meaningful act of stewardship. It is a way of saying, “Our church matters. Our ministry matters. Our story matters.”
Building on a Strong Foundation
Trinity’s mission has always been grounded in sharing our story in word and action. In a time when many feel disconnected, uncertain, or spiritually hungry, the ministry of a parish like ours is more important than ever. Trinity is a place where people come to encounter God, to explore faith, and to find a sense of belonging.
This year, we are committed to strengthening that mission by:
Continuing to pray together in ways that uplift and inspire.
Expanding opportunities for spiritual growth, formation, and prayer.
Telling our story more effectively through mail, social media, and a renewed online presence.
Continuing our partnerships with community organizations to share our campus.
Caring for our historic campus so that it remains a beacon of hope and hospitality for those who enter.
We can do all of these things, with your support!
As you reflect on your pledge for the coming year, we invite you to see yourself as part of Trinity’s unfolding story. Every time someone finds welcome in our church or experiences God’s presence in worship, you are part of that story.
You can also make your pledge online using the QR code below. We ask that all pledges be returned by November 9 so that our vestry can plan faithfully for the year ahead.
Our gifts are not just about funding a budget; they about proclaiming God’s work in us through our shared commitment to ministry. Thank you for helping Trinity remain a sacred, welcoming space at the heart of Highland Park, a place where God’s love is proclaimed in word and deed.
With gratitude and hope,
Bryan Cones
Priest-in-Charge, Trinity Episcopal Church
Trinity Fund
We at Trinity Episcopal Church have spent the last two years working to discover how to renew the “old” treasures we have inherited in our historic campus and transform them into “something new,” guided by our faith tradition, which tells us both “old” and “new” are necessary for thriving communities. In doing so, we hope both to continue Trinity’s historic mission in Highland Park and open that work, and ourselves, in ways we have never imagined. Some of our efforts have been literal “restoration”: Our renovated hall and stage now welcome events, classes, and performances that bring new faces and people into our buildings. Other work has improved the portion of our building that houses the Tri-Con Child Care Center, which serves low-income children and which Trinity has hosted at no cost for more than 50 years. We continue to seek ways both new and old to contribute to the well-being of all who come through our doors.
Trinity’s small congregation cannot sustain this work on our own. We need the support of both friends and other building users to continue to make our campus available to our community. To help sustain and expand our work, we are inaugurating a new way for supporters and building users help sustain our service in and for the community: a dedicated “Trinity Fund for Community, the Arts, and the Spirit.” Gifts to this fund will be devoted to maintaining Trinity’s campus for community and educational use, which includes Tri-Con, as well as AA and Al-Anon meetings, free English classes, and concerts. Gifts to this dedicated fund will be used only for these purposes, while Trinity’s religious mission will continue to be supported by its members’ contributions.
We at Trinity hope you will make a gift to sustain Trinity’s presence and service in our community, either by sending a contribution in the enclosed envelope or by contributing online by scanning the QR code. We are grateful for your support, which makes possible work that our congregation could not sustain on its own. Such partners are indeed treasures that help us share what we have received to all who make use of our campus. Trinity Episcopal Church is a 501(c)3 organization and gifts are tax deductible.
