Asylum-Seeker and Refugee Resettlement

Along with our four Better Together Episcopal Churches, Trinity hosts refugees and asylum seekers seeking a new home in the Chicago area. We welcome anyone who would like to help with this work. We began our work in 2022 with Afghan migrants. (You can read a story about Afghan migrants in the Chicago area, and our work to welcome them, in this story from the Chicago Tribune.)

Beginning in February 2023, our ministry began hosting with four families (ten adults and five children) who have recently migrated from Venezuela. In addition to providing housing and financial support, we connect them with area organizations who can assist them with asylum claims, state and county benefits, and permanent housing. Our pastor was on WBEZ's Reset to discuss this work and the challenges people face as they seek a new home. You can listen here.

If you would like to learn more about this project, you can email our circle. You can also donate to this project directly; all proceeds either contribute directly to our current guests or will be used to support future migrants.
