Keeping Lent at Trinity

Trinity will keep the season of Lent this year by joining with our companion churches for prayer and community building. In addition to our Sunday services, consider the following:

On Thursday mornings at 7:30 am, St. Elisabeth's in Glencoe (556 Vernon Ave.) celebrates a simple morning eucharist. Trinity hosts at Thursday morning Bible study (9 a.m.) and Morning Prayer (10 a.m.) on Zoom at this link

On Fridays during Lent (except March 24), St. Gregory (815 Wilmot Road) in Deerfield hosts Stations of the Cross, a traditional prayer of reflection on the last day of Jesus' life, both onsite and online at this link. The exception is March 24, when Trinity (425 Laurel Ave.) will host the Stations at 6 p.m., followed by a Lenten fish dinner.

On Saturday, March 4, from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m., you are invited to come to St. Elisabeth’s for a “Quiet Morning in Lent.” Elizabeth Clemmitt, St. E's Associate for Spiritual Wellness, will facilitate a morning of self-directed quiet time during which you can explore various activities and spiritual practices that promote peaceful reflection and spiritual growth.

Beginning Wednesday, March 8, at 7 p.m., Adam Spencer of St. E's will lead a discussion of James Martin’s book Learning to Pray: A Guide for Everyone. Martin’s book explains what prayer is, what to expect from praying, how to do it, and how it can transform us when we make it a regular practice in our lives. You can join the Zoom at this link.
